Today was mufti day which was cool. It was the first time I've really been confident on mufti day. I wore a bluey purpley top with a lacey black one underneath, black jeans and black dolly shoes. No converses! Wow....this really is a step forward for me :D haha.
First lesson we had drama, which is usually a really really good lesson. At the moment we are doing an improv about a busy resteraunt kitchen. In our kitchen we have a head chef, two under chefs and a waitress. We also have to add a special ingrediant thats like...holy, and one that everyone is scared of. We also have to have an introduction and use states of tension.
I think our play would be really really good and funny, except for these things: We have no proper structure, everyone keeps changing things and improvising! This makes the scene a) much longer and probably more boring b)messy because if one person improvises the other have to re act to that and it messes the whole sequence up! I'm the kind of person who works well with structure in a play. I can act, but only when I know what is going to happen. I can improvise to but not through the whole play. I also have to have an accent thats kind of german/italien and its fine when I know wha I have to say but when we improvise I don't! I have to make it up. Its bloody annoying too when I've told them over and over ok we know what we're gunna do can we just stick to it? Its bad enough that we don't have scirpts and stuff anyway!
Also, one person in our group is driving me CRAZY. I'm not gunna mention names just incase somebody does find this somehow who will tell her and upset her, but I have to say something!
She plays a character who tells us what dishes to make, so basicly the scene is in her hands, as she sets off the que for the scary ingrediant and the special one.
On the first lesson we were each developing our characters but she just wasn't trying...so we gave her ides, and the one she liked was to be really really engergetic and kind of hyper.
My mum just wanted the computor so I told her I had to finsih this, but then she got all huffy and she's scary when shes huffy so I ran and hid in my room, where I lit lots of pretty candles and my pink fairylights and turned all other lights off :) It was very nice and relaxing after a bad day. Anyway, I still havn't finsihed telling you what happened in drama so here we go:
So even though we've practically told Chloe what to do, she's still not doing it. She's just walking around slowly dragging her feet and saying in a droney kind of voice 'beans on toast' for every order. Its REALLY annoying.
So we were on the stage when Miss H told us she wanted us to show our improv. The first thing that went badly was the introduction, which we had completely forgotten about. So she let us off and told us to do it next lesson.
Yet again eveyrbody improvised and it was messy.
Then when we were done Miss H told us that we were gunna do it again but when she calls out the number for the states of tension we had to do the play in those states. It was really bad because some we hadn't gotten the hang on yet, ontop of having a play with no structure. It was basically awful and really embarrasing. And then our waitress forgot to come in and say what she had to to set off the rest of the scene, so that it went on and on for ages just with the same things. Because of the position of my character I couldn't promt her and in the end Miss H just stopped us from carrying on. It was awful!
So that was my really bad drama lesson.
